The West
Coast Tennis Academy was founded by Andy Farmer in the 1980's while
coaching juniors in Japan. The goal has always been to offer a tennis
program that gives junior & adult players the ability to reach their
full potential with their individual goals in mind. Whether their dream
is to become a touring professional, high school player or simply enjoy
tennis as a social activity we have a top flight coaching staff,
training systems and five star training facilities to get the job done.
We have programs designed for children, teens and adults.
Our
mission is to give students a sense of work ethic, pride, and the will
to succeed. When a student begins exhibiting self-discipline,
self-sufficiency, and pride as part of their character we have
succeeded. Our philosophy is to continually expand tennis horizons. With
effort and a positive attitude there are no limits to what anyone can
accomplish.
Andy
Farmer and coaching staff strongly believes the missing ingredients in
today's tennis are the focus and dedication required to succeed.
Commitment means putting the work in on and off the court on a
consistent basis. There are no shortcuts. Each student needs to stay
focused on their individual goals. To reach those goals pupils must
constantly ask the following question: "What do I need to do right now
to get closer to the goals that I have set for myself?"
Andy received his training at the prestigious Harry
Hopman Tennis Academy in Florida (known today as Saddlebrook Resort.) He
learned from world renowned coaches and played professionally for over
two years until an injury ended his journey early. He has been coaching
now for more than 20 years. Our pledge is to cultivate the talent of
motivated tennis players and help them take the steps to reach their
next level. Andy consistently instills a sense of discipline, energy,
and love in all his pupils.
