BEGINNER
AGES 9 - 12 YEARS OLD
For a player who has no tennis experience or has had 1 - 2 years of tennis in a camp setting.
Suggestion:
Do a series of private lessons to ensure your child has a good fundamental base so he or she can transition into the workouts and socials and not be intimidated.

AGES 13 - 18 YEARS OLD
For a player who has little tennis playing experience (for example less than 10 hours of private tennis instruction in the last year.)
Suggestion:
Normally we would do a series of private lessons then move into the monthly workouts. At this age it is very important to learn the proper techniques first to ensure improvement and a desire to stay with the game.
Workout options: Junior Workouts and Round Robins
 NOVICE
AGES 9-18 YEARS OLD
Novice level players are ones who have been working with a private instructor and are forming the proper techniques. They understand how to keep score and are participating in NCTP or USTA round robin events.
Suggestion: Private lessons and 2 or 3 workouts a week.

SATELLITE
AGES: 9 -18 YEARS OLD
Satellite level payers have advanced from the novice level in the USTA system. They have a fundamental understanding of the game and strategy. They play 5-plus hours a week and play in at least 6 tournaments throughout the year.
Suggestion: Private lessons, hitting lessons, workouts.

 OPEN
AGES 9-18 YEARS OLD
Open level players have a Southern California ranking. They play 10-plus hours a week and play a minimum of 2 tournaments a month and are looking to compete at a national level or play on a college team.
