Paige Farmer

Paige Patridge Farmer has played competitive tennis since she was 9 years old and carried junior rankings. Paige played for San Diego State University, ran the Tennis Department at the La Jolla YMCA, was a managing partner of the Bobby Riggs Tennis Club, and is currently a USPTA certified professional.

She comes from a family of tennis tradition and tournament players. While living in Japan, her sister, Britton Patridge Buss was named the All Japan player. Her brother Mitch played competitive junior tennis and her brother, Scott Patridge was top 200 on the ATP tour in singles and top 100 in doubles, and played all of the grand slams, including Wimbledon, The Australian Open, The French Open and The US Open.

Paige has been teaching tennis and running programs for over 14 years. Along with her husband Andy, they have traveled to Japan to teach at exclusive clubs and have had international players travel overseas to attend and train at their academy. .. Paige, who is the WCTA Program Coordinator, is always looking for innovative ways to give young players a love for the sport through fun social events, well-run tournaments, and strong workouts. She has created fun programs for children as Racket Rascals, Racketeers and more. Her goal is to give them a love for the sport. She feels that anyone can start at any age and still play. She is most proud that the academy can train players from the age 4 to the professional level and that players have come from other countries to train.

Rat Pak tournament tours was designed by Paige, and stems from her personal experiences as a junior. Her coach Van Hook, who has since passed away, had a group of junior players who started as beginners and worked their way through local, sectional, national, and collegiate levels and scholarships, and even the professional tour. They trained together before tournaments, traveled as a team to tournaments; most notably, both the training and the travel were infused with coaching by positive reinforcement, discipline and a strong work ethic, and above all was fun. The team and each of its members were determined and destined to improve.

Lasting memories and friendships have stayed with her to this day. Consequently, the first Rat Pak began when Paige and Andy took a group of juniors to a tournament back in 1987. Since that time, the Rat Pak Program has evolved from its first group of undisciplined and unfocused kids to a promising youth program instilled in developing character, self esteem, discipline, focus, a love for the game, teamwork, friendship; above all, the program is lots of fun! Deserving Rat Pak players have even enjoyed international trips to Japan to play tennis, sight see, and gain a new perspective from a world view.
