Tip of the Month

Fundamentals for better Ground Strokes

Even beginners hit great shots occasionally and its not just luck. The primary reason for most good shots is the proper location of the ball in relation to our body when we strike it.

A consistent swing is easier to duplicate and creates a more solid hit with the end result being what we intended. If we alter our swing too often to accommodate the ball, we will never perfect a swing and never develop consistency.

The better players prefer to hit the ball waste high or slightly lower. This is where the arm and hand naturally hang to the side of the body and is the power zone. Especially for beginners and intermediate club players, hitting a high fast ball above the waste can be extremely difficult, if not impossible.

Wear out your shoes instead of your arm. You will be far more consistent and hit those great shots more often.
